Those are the numbers...for now. Let's see what the final numbers tell us. There is much we won't know for sure for years.
Your Swedish question is irrelevent to us. The Swedish gov't answers to the Swedish people. They have a high trust and high satisfaction in there leaders. It's not about what I would say to them. I don't know how they will stack up when the final numbers are all in.
Sweden did have trouble when the virus got into their nursing homes/assisted living early on. They acknowledge that. If they could have gotten a handle on that early on, they are absolutely certain their numbers would look much better. Since that episode, their numbers have dropped dramatically.
That's the thing about small countries, small change in geography skews the numbers. You can look at New York/New Jersey numbers and cringe. You can look at Tennessee numbers and claim victory. Cherry pick as you want.
Take the number from NY/NJ, Chicago, NO out of the the US equation, and things look much rosier.

But a mask is guaranteed to offer at least some protection for all wearers, he added, though it is far from total protection.
"We have clear scientific evidence they work, I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine, because the immunogenicity may be 70 percent and if I don't get an immune response, the vaccine's not going to protect me, this face mask will," Redfield said.
While experts widely say wearing masks is a very important part of the effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the development of a vaccine is seen as a key step in getting back to close to pre-COVID-19 normality.
Redfield's emphasis on mask-wearing is a contrast to President Trump, who has rarely worn a mask and has held rallies with crowds of many maskless supporters.
"These face masks are the most important, powerful public health tool we have, and I will continue to appeal for all Americans to embrace these face coverings, if we did it for six, eight, 10, 12 weeks we'd bring this pandemic under control," Redfield said.

There is one tiny little problem with the article. It actually assumes that everyone wore a mask during that time. I also love the part where people still don't understand that the mask is to protect others from you, not you from others. If everyone does it then everyone is protected. Of course, this is why we are doomed to have to deal with this for eternity because the concept of protecting oneself by protecting others in this country is completely foreign not to mention leads to regulations and socialism. Its amazing the human race has lasted this long.
