Not a regular in any long range shooting forum. More toward the 'white cane' end of spectrum! But though the following might be of interest. Current news, but sounding more like the old Soviet era "we're bigger, better, badder..." https://www.rbth.com/science-and-te...tim_recirculation&utm_campaign=EmailMy vision of the tech referenced, either somehow ignoring Newtonian physics, supersonic shock area size of small city. Perhaps as "rail gun" tech, lethal wand reduced to fifty kilos or so with umbilical power supply comparably reduced to mounted on track-layer equivalent of semi-truck! Any event ... 'Devil truly in details'! All such, further limited by "one man, one round!" Need to cart away carcass of shooter to be replaced by next in line drawn from protective bunker! Just for interest! Best & Stay Safe John

Yeah, we're working on a rifle................... I'm not even going to do the math on 70 MOA at 3,000 meters, but I wouldn't be too worried about being hit.

I believe the 70 MOA and 55 MOA claims are actually expected drop to the target, not accuracy as the article describes....

Think of the time of flight (TOF), which I would guess would 10's of seconds so you need to be able to predict the wind between you and the target for a good portion of that time, much less worry about leading any movement the target takes. You might end up exposing your position for a very low probability of hitting your target, exposing you to a better sniper weapon, maybe the A10, or a 155 mm round, pick your choice from the armory.
Last edited by wade brown; 09/17/20. Reason: My estimate for TOF was based upon the 7 km range claimed in the headline.

At the Mach 4.5 bullet speed they are claiming that would only be 4.16 seconds to travel the 4.35 miles.

Yeah, and if you are with-in a couple hundred yards of his target you should probably duck behind something.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.
