I've had an SWFA 1-6 on my AR for a few years. At 1x it's pretty good for up close and reaction shots as you just paste that big circle (smaller on 1x as it's FFP scope) with the illuminated crosshair in center on target. 6x allows for more precision and shots much further out.
Aside from a simple Aimpoint red dot, I think it's the next best thing. A lot of utility for the price.
Now, if SWFA could just incorporate a red dot or small illuminated crosshair in the fixed 6 and 3-9x42mm mil-quads I'd be content.

FO, Illumination can NEVER hurt the equation. I find the 1-6x HD's reticle a bit quicker than an Illuminatti and the HD's Illumination, certainly covers all bases. With 40 Mil's of erector travel,it's a bunch, but 60+ Mil's on the Illuminatti do not suck. One doesn't give up any speed of engagement to a 'Dot Sight, but the ability to thread needles,is a HUGE benefit. SUPERB idea to incorporate a back up battery,in the rheostat turret. The parcel as a whole,is very well thunked and capped turrets, conjoined with a reticle that speaks the same language,do not hurt production. Creek Walk this evenin',Bear Lookin'.................. Boob, At least Imagination and Pretend are free,so you can "afford" to "contribute"...you "lucky" kchunt. Hint. Congratulations?!? The '6x HD's reticle is easy to hold hard and the newest 8" 7-08 is forming 180 ELD Smooches in the mid-4's. I'm happy to let anybody have the first shot,or the first cast and then simply clean up. Hint. LAUGHING! More Budget yesterday,as the 22 PPC Fhuqking Improved rolled together. Google it. Hint. LAUGHING! A 200yd zero with 88 ELD Smooches, leaves 1.3 Mil's on the bottom of the erector, with 65 MOA inclination tossed in the fray. Bart' 7",heavy A5,Marty steel bottom,Shilen 2-ounce trigger, all the stuff you "get" to read about,as you swoon Splendid Pixels. Hint. Laughing! Forming Lapooey Virgins in the high-.2's and I look for it to do nice thangs,on the average. Hint. Bless your heart for trying though. Hint. LAUGHING!.................

Broke the blade on my original,by chopping an Old Growth Spruce limb to make an LZ for a '500 to be able to get me. It had an inclusion and [bleep] happens, but I finally sent it off and they flung me a new one, with no questions asked upon it's arrival to 'em. Only trouble is,it wasn't made by LP,which sorta skews the collection, but is a nice "problem" to have.(grin)
I've got 'em in all sizes to 5lb heads, but that Itty Bitty bitch is handy and often thinks it's an Ulu,whittling Critters up. They have no equal.
The 22PPC Fhuqking Improved,is a NASTY Bitch!....................

Boob, Colors are rather disconcerting,to CLUELESS Window Licking Whiners everywhere...you "lucky" kchunt. Hint. Congratulations?!? LAUGHING! Might be on "accident",but prolly ain't,even on Bob's Care Package. Hint. LAUGHING! Nor had I seen Yellow before. Hint. LAUGHING! Though in fairness,I've never seen a 3-15x,whether FFP or SFP. Hint. LAUGHING! Bless your heart, for doing the best you can, with what INCREDIBLY fhuqking little you 'have" to "work" with. Hint. Laughing!................

I wished I had of gotten more of these when Doug was sellin them. 1-8.5 FFP.. But with the 1-6 HD at a pretty good price my son and I scooped two of them. Like FO said, they’re pretty sweet on an AR or Bolt as well.

Ah, sorry, misinterpreted your pic. That must be a parallax adjustment on the left. Not familiar with that scope. I thought you had the windage up top.

Stopped by SWFA yesterday and picked up a 1-6 HD Demo B. At $400 off from SWFA’s full price, an absolute bargain. Looked brand new to me. I think they have the best designed reticle available in a FFP LPVO. The big ring disappears out of the FOV at 6x and is a perfect sized CQB ring at 1x. Genius... Illumination is done just right. Daylight visible at highest setting. Barely visible at near dark on lowest setting. Glass is very nice. Turrets are very positive with ample adjustment range, slightly over 30 mils elevation on my scope. Haven’t shot it yet, so tracking remains to be seen, but based on my other SWFAs, I don’t expect any issues.

Good report Hondo, that just about nails my thoughts on it as well. I bet they’re rugged as hell as well.
