Every few years, I drive from central Calif. to Las vegas, pick up my brother and we head to Strawberry reservoir Utah for a few days of fishing.
Just got back yeasterday, the fishing was great.
Alll catch and release, trolling lures on light spinning tackle.
Fishing 4 days, we boated over 200 fish.
90% Cutthrouts, 10% rainbows.

Biggest trout of the trip was this 8 lb, 25" Cutt. My biggest trout ever. For ten minuets on light tackle, everytime I would gain 10 feet of line, she would take 10 feet back. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/gallery/80/medium/138388.jpg) About a dozen in the 22" , 5 lb range, and well over a hundred 18"-21" 3 to 4 lb range.

Nice fish!
Strawberry is a Blue Ribbon trout factory. It was my favorite lake to fish when I lived in Salt Lake.
I always try to fit in a trip there when I go up to visit my mom.

I think Strawberry is still one the very best fisheries in the state. Congrats on the great fish!

Strawberry is about 90 minutes away. September is always my favorite month to float tube it. Sinking lines, black or dark green leech patterns and prepare yourself for loads of fun fishing. Gotta love those BIG cutthroats.
