Maybe so...I haven't looked. The 1885, especially the Low Wall, could really use a hammer extension.
Not really possible. The hammer drops completely inside the reciever when the action is opened. Jerry D'oh!

Our local gun shop has one in 25-06. But, I can't tell you if it's a low wall or high wall. Nice wood but shows some hanger rash. It doesn't have a varmit barrel but it's not a sporter barrel. Any idea what it's reall worth ? I'm looking at it again on Tuesday but I'm not sure it's for me.

I lucked out on my LW .223 late last winter. Flat out mint but no box, at a local but we'll attended gun auction: $600.

kwg Definitely a High Wall. Some LWs have been made in .243, .260, and IIRC 6.5 Swede, but nothing hotter. If in decent shape, $1000 is reasonable, but local prices are often lower than online. Really special wood can jack the price a lot.
What fresh Hell is this?

Careful they’re addictive , buy one and many will follow you home .
My 45/70 hi wall is my favorite bear rifle and accounted for its fourth black bear Saturday evening , all one shot kills .
Would love to find a 405 win to customize for a hunting rig .
