Congrats szihn, that Garand isn’t very heavy after you’ve made a kill with it! memtb

I'm down to 4 do-all rifles. All SS/Syn. Likely combo be Kimber 30-06 for elks and bears, and a Kimber 308 for deers. I'm kinda liking that pairing for about anything I hunt. I am trying different bullets this year - 165 gr Federal Trophy in the 308 and either 180 Fed Trophy or 200 Accubonds in the 06. I'd bet they will all work.
Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it.

Sounds like FUN.. Hey ! you could shoot a 'man bun' and hunt deer, etc. LET Judy drag em. Don't tell her I said that. Jerry Yeah, I could....but I won't. As far as Judy dragging them, only if I was to grab the other antler.

My state and county finally went to straight walled cartridges for deer hunting this year, so I picked up a C.A. Ridgeline in .450 Bushmaster.

My custom Mauser chambered in 358 Winchester. Hopefully with a cast 230 grain bullet moving at a sedate 2150 fps. No deer in our Pa woods will stop that!!
......the occasional hunter wielding a hopelessly inaccurate rifle, living by the fantastical rule that this cartridge can deliver the goods, regardless of shot placement or rifle accuracy. The correct term for this is minute of ego.

Same as the last couple years, 10/22 for rodents, 8x57 VZ-24 for everything else.

I don't always shoot Mausers, but when I do...I prefer VZ-24s.

I think I'll start with a Winchester Model 88 in 308. Retro again this year.
