Hunt in the woods in the morning and fields or open woods in the afternoon here. If you are busting them walking in pick a different route in. Or take plenty of time and stalk in to your stand. I used to hunt a good stand that the deer bedded at night around it. When I hunted it in the morning. I would take 30 minutes to walk into it a 150 yards from the road.

I hunted mostly mornings the last ten years due to work schedule. Like others said try not to hunt fields and focus on interior locations and travel corridors. I try to walk at a slow steady pace and don’t stop, if the deer don’t wind you, even if they spook they won’t go far. In one particular spot I’ll wait to gray light because I have to cross a small section of field. If clear I hop up and always have deer come through after. Nothing better than being in the woods when sun comes up.

When my sis and BIL still had the woods on the farm, getting to my stands in the morning was a no go, as deer were feeding and some of those old does remember everything, as I usually walked out there. However, if a tractor was available, I would take one out. Problem solved!

With our kids we drive them in the truck to the stands before daylight and drive away. They see deer even though we ran them off with the truck and lights. The deer see the truck leave and think its a ok to come back out.
