Undershorts first, then shirt, then socks, then pants.
One leg at a time or both while sitting on the edge of the bed?
Left or right sock first? Same every time?
The Campfire needs to know these details.
I get wild and crazy and vary the order on the socks. In order to prove that nearly killing myself by falling over and hitting my head on the dresser when my toes got caught in my undershorts was a one-shot deal, I also don the pants from full standing.
We are all now more informed campers.
Folks, do not, I repeat DO NOT get your toes caught in your undies while putting them on. 5sdad has done us the favor of testing that out, almost with dire results.
Were you to try, one might be heading to the church for a different reason if you crack your head on the dresser.

well, I'm a bi-vocational pastor. From May to October I wear slacks and a polo type shirt. In the winter, I wear a suit and tie often. My folks don't care and as one of the first posts on this thread mentioned, God does not either.
fairly casual except for christmas and the lenten season special services. our services start back up onsite on sunday. haven't been to church since sometime in feb or march.

This may very be the case, I do not know for sure.
We do not let the grass and weeds get waist-high, we keep all the paint in order, the siding is pressure washed annually, carpets are cleaned twice a year, no candy wrappers blowing around in the parking lot.
No one is expected to be dressed to the nines, but people should have some reverence when coming the Lord’s house to worship Him. If you testimony is that of a slob, how is that a service to the Great Commission?
For church, I like to think we should dress as if we were dressing to meet someone that was personally important to us. I probably wouldn't wear cut off shorts and flip flops to meet the president, so I won't do it to wear to church. That being said, when I was young, it was not at all unusual or looked down on to wear bib overalls to church. Most of the time they had on a white shirt and possibly a tie with the bibs. Course this was a small church and most of the folks were depression era adults, and it was about the best they had. God knows when you are trying to honor him, and when you are just trying to show off.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost....
Dress suit or blazer/dress jacket with dress slacks, coordinated dress shirt and tie. Since a kid. God's house for worship. Some others dress very differently - works fine - to each his own.
We just finished the holiest day of the year for us. Part of the service was indoors (for those who were very observant and not afraid of being indoors with lots of people), part was outdoors under a tent. This will give you an idea of how orthodox Jews dress for temple. Pretty much shorts or jeans, white shirt or tshirts and sneakers or very informal shoes.

Eliminate qualified immunity and you'll eliminate cops who act like they are above the law.

After showering, I put on underwear and then socks. Not hard and fast as to whether the shirt or pants is next. In winter, I often wear a t-shirt under the shirt. Jacket and shoes are put on at the rear door.
My attitude will differ from many of yours and I'm not being critical of anyone, but out of my respect for God, I wear a suit and tie when I attend church. He's probably just glad to see me there, but out of respect, I want to look my best. Kinda like someone else said, if I was meeting someone important, I'd dress the part.
