Remember why, specifically, the Bill of Rights was written...remember its purpose. It was written to limit the power of government over the individual.

A lot of black kids drop out of school rather than having to learn white man's math and science. Does anyone have any black man's math or science books on hand?

I thought the name of that chronicle was "The Song of Evangeline". Anyway - it was enjoyable- Acadian to Cajun.

Been going through this "multitude of books" problem in a big way as we have been relocating and I simply will not move all of those - and will not build more shelves for those we just "have" - and will not move all of the book cases - etc.
Have given great/interesting/classic books to friends (only if they want them) and have kept the classics of fiction/biography, and kept the best of those strong in my professions and deep interests, kept a bunch of the dictionaries/quotations/thesaurus types, and all of the vehicle stuff.. But, still have a ton - literature, art, music, science, philosophy, leadership, and on and on. No one library has said "bring them all". Anybody need some books?

I read that back in a lit class in high school, more than 50 years ago. There's only 1 line of it that stuck with me (I had to look it up):

Sweet was her breath as the breath of kine that feed in the meadows. She had cow's breath. I remember some of us farm kids laughed out loud in class when we read that. The teacher tried to tell us that cows feeding on meadow grass had sweet breath. Total BS. A cow's breath will gag you. Obviously Longfellow was a city guy. We totally disrupted the class with that one.

Do not need a book now. They have now figured out a way to interface your brain to the internet. It is Elon Musk’s Neuralink chip.

Same here. I haven’t had to buy a test book in a long time but when I was in school I couldn’t wait for the end of a semester and to throw out everything that I couldn’t sell back.

Technical books should be kept.

Anything having to do with electives should be trashed - psychology, sociology, <stupid> studies.

I have many of my college text books, and still refer to them from time to time. Much of the material is technically dated, but the ideas are still sound.

In science text books the fundamentals should not change. Science is all about fundamentals.

Modern history texts should be dumped pronto. I recently bought a full set of Encyclopedia Britannica from the 90s for dirt cheap - macro, mico the whole deal. My descendants will thank me.

The internet is a cesspool of bullschit. Soon history will be rewritten.

I plan to get an oxford dictionary from the 50s or 60s too. As they are changing word definitions as part of the reeducation of society.
