I have just purchased an exquisite 38 Spl Smithie Target gun (K-38 Masterpiece) and it shoots wadcutters into 1.25 inch groups at 25 yards...not bad. I suspect that it will shoot even better, but I want to cast for this gun, and am using Bull-X 148's as well as Hornady 148 lead WC's.
My question: I can buy a Lee, RCBS, Saeco, or Lyman 4 cavity mold...with a variety of prices...and get started, but I am wondering if any of you guys have any experience with Lee molds (the cheapest) making target grade bullets. They have a six cavity mold that is tempting me at $34.00. I've always been a Lyman man, but at $70 to $80 plus the cost of handles, I'm a little hesitant.
Help me out guys...
Thanks
