What Sam said. Anything merino wool. Base layers. Wearing one now. Outside down to whatever. If you get caught in the rain, no problem. It just takes forever to dry unless you're wearing it...
Mid layer is what you asked about. Wool is versatile and good for all around. Nylon is snag resistant if the right kind. Polyesters stink but clean and dry fast. Don't like it for hunting. If it has silver or anti stink tech, it drives the price up to marino wool levels. I have both, but prefer wool for base and mid layers. Outer can be anything that meets the day .
I've got some good name brands that I would recommend, but I don't think it matters a whole lot IMHO. Better fit, qualities, durability maybe.
If on a budget, go mil surplus or discount store. The risk are moth or beetle eggs in your house. I just washed, deep freeze, heat cycled some surplus that seemed to do the job. Right now Im about as comfortable as possible in 1950s vintage thermals.

Duluth Trading Shoreman's Fleece. Windproof. Mostly water resistant in this rain-soaked blowhole and a schitt-ton of pockets.
I’ll look into this

I don't have a specific brand, I just go a size up on a hoodie and make sure its thick material.
Seems like I end up with alot of Champion stuff though.

Get a Carhartt hooded sweat shirt and wear it until it gets really cold.
When that happens, get a Carhartt winter type jacket.
If that is not good enough for you......get a Wrangler Riggs work jacket.

More often than not it's a flannel shirt. Uninsulated in the fall and insulated when the weather gets colder. If I need more than a flannel it's because of wind.

I like my Carhartt for work wear but for some reason I’m not crazy about it on my days off around my farm and hunting or camping or light work around home. I generally wear carhartt bibs at work with a hooded sweatshirt over everything.

I like the $45 carhzrtt mid weight pullovers.
Get you some lighter festive colors. Don’t wear the brown and black ones to the Walmart’s.
Sams club had some generic Mississippi logo hoodies the other day. Seems heavier that the Carhartt. $16.

My cousin has a store here and she sells the Icebreaker brand.
I have a really nice hoody that I got on sale. Stupid expensive.
Worn it 4-5 years and it still has the pimp comfort.

Does it cover your blouse? The fugg is a casual wear top?
Does it cover your blouse? Duck911 will be along shortly to educate you on the nuances of “men’s” early spring/late fall fashions. Jim, you wouldn’t believe how sensual a high quality merino wool rubbing against your bare nipples Can make a guy feel. You three seem to have picked up on the same vibe I did. but I’m in the search for some super comfy casual wear tops super comfy casual tops? Is pink suitable? Ruffles on the collar and cuffs? rickybobby, you may perhaps consider choosing your wording a bit more carefully around here, this is a tough crowd. If you're concerned about not liking an item and having it sit in the closet afterwards, perhaps go try some things on at a local second hand shop? Then you could box it up and send it back. I hear there are some online shopping places that allow returns within a certain time frame, try that avenue too? Personally, has to be zip or button front, I'm not a pullover kind of guy. Harder to adjust temperature when needed. Also do not like synthetic clothing, makes me sweat if in contact with skin. You mentioned around camp, does that include campfires? Another reason I don't like synthetics. Before it gets really cold it's flannel shirts here. After that, I have a zip hoodie I wear on cold mornings feeding the chickens in the Gulag and such. Mostly cotton. When it gets downright chilly I've got an insulated Carhart canvas jacket, but we're talking well below freezing before I put that on. Most days in winter it's a pair of long johns on first, then a flannel shirt, then the hoody or jacket if it's really cold. I wear hats and don't like my ears covered except below about 20F, even then it might be a beanie hat and scarf. The hoods come up below zero usually and even then I don't like it. All my clothes are casual now that I'm retired. Actually, even when I was working as I don't do fancy duds real well. "super comfy casual tops"...................................you a funny man rickybobby

Seems like you are more interested in this than me. For the record, in fall and winter here in Colorado I generally wear jeans, boots, and a hoodie. Hoodie hides my OWB 9mm nicely. GFY

I like Carhartt's zip up hoody, They have a HD one that has a dark liner that doesn't allow the wind to blow through. Mine happens to be blue. I've worn it for several years. They hold up well.

I skipped ahead from page 1. So if I'm repeating I apologize.
Thin Carhartt hooded sweatshirt for when it's not cold. Heavy Carhartt hooded sweatshirt when it is cold.
I personally hate zipper sweatshirts. Pullovers here.
