That's a real heart warming story. God bless him. I've run across very few hunters in my lifetime that were even over 80. But every one of 'em were very cool old guys. Few years ago I was talking with an 89 yr. old guy who gave up hunting when he was 85 because all his hunting buddies had died off.

Thanks everyone, he's back in Pop's stand smoking a cigar and enjoying the day. A side note, he's the Cribbage champ and still reads the newspaper without glasses. We're truly blessed.

Cool. My grandfather made his last elk hunt when he was 95. For the most part he just puttered around camp but he put him up a nice stand behind camp where he could watch a nice meadow. Got it pretty much wind proof and covered so he could stay dry. He didn't see an elk but at that age just going to elk camp was impressive. He died in his sleep 3 weeks shy of his 100th birthday. He was a tough old bird.

Awesome pic Truegrit. leesway2 has a dad in his 80s that is still deer hunting every year in "L.A."

Maybe Tommy will see this and post a pic of his dad on some of their "Lower Alabama" hunts. Love to see the oldster still out in the field.
