I have heard the same said about the shooting sports but I do not agree.
Ah, the old days of shootouts on the main drag at noon.
Then it really was a sport, with a winner and a loser and not just some numbers on a PACT timer, eh?

DeFlave: I have been SO very thankful all my life that the "golf gene" skipped me! My older brother and my younger brother both love to golf and are rather good at it - as they have done it for 40+ years now. I am not much of a golfer and only go along to visit with my brothers when they play. I have only done maybe 6 or 8 rounds of golf in my entire life. Two of the three VarmintSons are golf enthusiasts and would golf all the time were it not for work necessity. I hit a 7 iron once from about 120 yards out that landed within a yard of the "hole" - my brothers were excited at that. I would rather roam the hills with a gun than walk a course. I don't know why. Enjoy your new exer-hobby. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy P.S.: I seriously fingered one of the Watley sisters on the 18th green at Maplewood golf course (Renton, Washington) late one Saturday night, when I was in high school - does that count for anything?

VG,
I'd say that makes you the greatest golfer of all time.

I've golfed a few times many years ago - really liked it but felt I had too many other irons in the fire to pursue it. The thought of it now tends to bring back bad memories...
I figured out I can cuss and drink beer without paying green fees. Win/win Golf’s only redeeming quality is that you get to drive a tiny car around while cussing and drinking beer. If you walk the course you’re doing it wrong.
