According to the test target it used Lapua Master M That or Midas-M is their standard. I have/had 2 57M's and they were both fine accurate rifles but the first one had to go back twice for extraction issues. The 2nd on I kind splurged on with lots of extras but Cooper stocked it with a piece of walnut that my Grandfather cut off the farm 50 years ago.

The cost and specs should be on the Cooper web site. My 57M Classic is first year production with a 2 digit serial number and the early ones had a longer, heavier (24", .750") profile barrel. Mine has a Weaver V24 on it and it's about 8 lb. The newer ones I believe are lighter. I think the MSRP on them is in the $2K neighborhood. So yours is the older heavier profile? That will affect balance, and likely in a good way when scoped. Pugs, sounds like it turned out really nice.

Had four Coopers, nice rifles. Mine would put five inside 1/4” @ 50 with my bad eyes. They have escalated in price substantially in the last few years. I thought they were a great buy at $1100 to $1200....$2000 for a basic rifle is not.
It’s just my opinion but I never liked the short ring spacing.
I prefer the lines of the original Kimbers.

LVT, Jackson Squirrel 22rf and a 223.Gone. 1/4" at 50 on a bad day with the Anschutz. My Cooper can shoot like that. Back when I used it for local benchrest matches, at the beginning of my rimfire benchrest hobby, I would routinely beat Anschutz sporters and a even a fellow who shot the Anschutz BR 50 rifle. When I moved up to IR50/50 sanctioned matches I had to retire it as it could not meet their 7 lb sporter rifle weight limit (including scope). When I showed up at my first match with it, the fellow on the next bench asked, "What ya got there." I replied, "A Cooper." He grunted, "Humpf, some of them can shoot." Me, "I think this one does." I then proceeded to win the match.

1/2 MOA is wonderful!
What will that Cooper and Annie above do with CCI Std and Mini-Mags?
Too bad that Eley, Lapua, etc is so pricey.
What barrel length is that Annie? The 1700 series?

Can't say. The lowest grade ammo I've shot in it is the old Wolf & SK ammo. My Cooper doesn't like Eley but shoots Lapua Center X, Midas and the older Master M very well. Precision rifles deserve good match ammo. I shoot the cheaper ammo in my lower grade .22 rifles and pistols. CCI stds and Fed Auto Match do well for them. There's little point in putting match ammo in a rimfire that doesn't have a match chamber or running cheap ammo in rimfire with a match barrel/chamber.

Here's a picture of me shooting my Cooper 57M at a local benchrest match in the early 2000s. Ammo being used is Lapua Master in the old gold box.

I have owned 2 Coopers in the past, never had any luck accuracy wise, glad everyone else is, I have a Tikka T1X now that is much more accurate than the Coopers I had, maybe I got 2 lemons.

They have an accuracy guarantee, you should have sent it (them) back, they would have made it right if it was wrong. Did ya ever shoot Lapua ammo thru them? If I only could shoot Eley match ammo thru mine I would be disappointed too.

The wood was kinda unremarkable compared to what they had but it's got great sentiment attached to it. I splurged on a bunch of extras such as the inletted buttstock and pistol grip and checkered bolt and such.
