Yep, already for his season...IF the weather EVER cools of in this god-forsaken swamp!

Looking good jorge. Did you find some more 265 FPs? Hornady can sure piss a guy off the way they drop good bullets or stop offering them as components.

Yes I did. One of our members pointed me to Buffalo Arms and I cleaned them out with 500 smile . According to Midway USA they are discontinued, but apparently EVERYTHING made by Hornady appears to be in short supply due to the Bologna virus..

I have one I purchased in 1981... when I first got it, I was in Northern MN at the inlaws, so I went out in the woods to zero the 4 power scope on top... Remington factory ammo...

put a target on a good sized pine tree...

first three shots were right on target...

then there was a quick gust of wind..... the pine tree fell over... the three shots of those 240 grain rounds, and pretty much made mush out of the pine where they hit in a three shot string...

called it my logging gun after that...

Biggest deer I've ever shot was in 1984... 50 miles south of International Falls... the guys driving, pushed about 40 deer out of a swamp... temp was 30 below... shot that buck from high up on a fallen over tree...shooting the 265 grain load...

it cut a sapling in half before hitting the bucks shoulder.. DRT...deer was about 340 to 350 lbs on the hoof...
