Take a bed sheet and hang it on a clothes line. Stake the bottom so it can't move. Then take you garden hose with tightest setting and spray one side of the sheet.See how much water gets thru . Same thing with a mask with a few layers.
As for spreading something you don't have, you don't know that unless you are tested. Even a mild case with few symptoms can be contagious to others.
I view wearing a mask in crowded places as a courtesy to others around you. It is like not washing your hands after taking a wizz or picking your nose..You probably don't have anything, but I don't want to shake your hand nor pick up vegetables or fruits in a supermarket after you have handled them.
If you don't want to wear them fine. Just don't come up to me coughing spit at me.
Good call. So a saturated liquid has the same behavior as an nanoscale aerosol. So a gas size particle cannot move through a porous mesh but gas like oxygen can. I see you have a degree in science. Congrats. Good analogy.
How about a chain link fence keeps out dogs, so a chain link fence will keep out bees. I see how it works now. Thanks again.
