So today I run across a very economical 03A3 in '06, don't care about the caliber but the stock is very nice and action seems very good and the price is right on the mark, ok here is the ?, I only own one of these and it is different, the one for sale has the rear of the action completely milled out and the mount for the scope situated inbetween, so basically the back of the action is missing. In other words the scope mount is inbetween each side of the action not on top, anyone ever seen this and is this OK?

Never have, sounds like a bubba hack job. Post some pics if you can, I'd like to see it.

You're gonna have to post pictures, I can't begin to picture what you're trying to describe. Back of the action missing? Nah, I don't think that's OK

Never seen a 03A3 with a split rear bridge or any kind of a scope mt that required it. Only a total retard would do that. MB

You start carrying that 'thing' around gun folk, you'll want a mask even after Covid is abated! So what's the price... How much are you being offered as bribe to cart that piece of work away? Only morbid interest has me joining in request for photos; even autopsy in action OK.
My take with humor, but serious underlying visualization!

Exactly, worked out out in the end though, stumbled into a 98 Mauser in a "safe overstock reduction sale", so I have another project and this one has not seen the grinder LOL

You need a pipe wrench, too.

Now we're sounding better, I thought I was "over-tooled". I have all those, even metric crescent wrenches. And...a BMFH.
