I could've swore I read a thread or 2 here where folks talked about the success they have had with this bullet in 30/06.
I have now ordered 3 boxes and can't find the threads/info.
Who is using this bullet in 30/06 and what has been your experience?
Thanks!!

For me they've worked on:
Mule deer (.308 Win) Blacktail deer (.308 & '06) Dall sheep (300 WSM)

Nope those won't work in your 30/06. But good news! I can probably take them off your hands. ;^)

I use them in 06’s and 300 Weatherby. I use 165’s in 300 Win mags. I don’t know why, guess that’s all I had at the time. Barnes are accurate in all of them.

I used to shoot 180 Partitions or 180 Sierra ProHunters in three pre-'64 Model 70s, one of which is a featherweight. I almost always used H4350 but tried H4831. It worked as well as H4350 but required compressed loads. Several years ago, I was working with the 150 TTSX BT in a .300 Winchester Magnum (Rem. 700) and a .300 H&H Magnum (pre-'64 M70). This bullet shot very well in both guns. I decided to try it in the .30-06s using H4895 powder. The Barnes was noticeably more accurate than the Partition and ProHunter. The 150 TTSX is all I use in .30-06 now and also in a .308 NULA. Took my best elk so far with this bullet in the .308.

Very accurate and great performance. Wouldn't be afraid to use them from mice to moose. Have killed a boatload of deer with them, some hogs and pronghorn. Powdered with whatever was handy, IMR4320, H4895, probably some others. Go forth and slay.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

30-06 and a 150? There are many powders that will work very well.
With lead cored bullets 52 grains of IMR 4064 is a classic load. A little workup and it's almost certain you can find a sweet spot with the TTSX.

I only use those bullets in all my hunting rifles. 30.06, 260 Rem (the real 6.5 CM), 223.
My favorite load in my rifle on my equipment, blah, blah, blah....
Varget 50.5g, 150g TTSX, LC brass, fed match primers, 2919fps out of a pre64 win m70 super grade. Everything I shot a deer with that load and rifle, the 1953 Win says wish I had that load when I was young....
Used to use SSTs, AMax and large bucks would go 100 yards and die, with Barnes, the does flop over, the bucks drop and generally never go more that 30 yards.

Sounds like Varget and 4064, so far... 60 grains of H4350 in Win cases and F210 primer has been very good
I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

Max load of H4350. Nothing will stop it. Hot knife in butter. IME prolly to much damage. But if you wanta anchor an elk or black bear in extreme country? Done deal. I’m running 62gr H4350 @ 3040fps. Flat out way lays anything it hits.

I don't load Barnes, but 58 grains of IMR4451 produces 3000 fps from an old Savage -06, using 150 Interlocks. The Barnes should be every bit as good.

That bullet works well in my 30-06 I used Hunter powder. My rifle has a 1-11 inch twist 3 grove.

Anyone have any favorite loads with this bullet?
I know, start low, every rifle is different, etc.... In my experience, Barnes bullets shoot better when driven fast with approx .050 jump to the lands. Good luck!

Anyone have any favorite loads with this bullet?
I know, start low, every rifle is different, etc.... I tried 55 grains of Ramshot Big Game with 3 150 grain bullets just to find what my Weatherby Mark V liked in that weight range. The NAB, HIB and the TSX the NAB and HIB were .030 off the lans +-. The TSX was lightly crimped in the shortest channel . The TSX provided the best accuracy by a good bit 5 in an inch 3 at .5. Have not gotten around to revisit yet but I suspect it will be a great hunting load. I would think a few additional powders in that range would provide similar results. Good luck and shoot straight y'all.

Love it. I used factory Barnes ammo .30-06 150 gr. last year on a white tail. Shot accurately in my rifle. 170 yd. shot. The deer was slightly angling away. Hit just behind the shoulder and took out the opposite shoulder. The projectile exited. DRT. Flat and fast.

I don’t remember the load I first worked up with 150s in my .30/06. It worked great. Somehow, many moons ago, I found a sale or something and bought a box of the factory Vortex 150s. They shot to the same place. I get pretty busy with work and family and I load for 4-5 other rifles so I have just been shooting the factory stuff. Great results! 2 elk, DRT, a few pronghorns and I have honestly lost count of the whitetails. Generally, if you shoot shoulder(s) it is bang-flop and behind the shoulder, heart/lungs results in an easy to follow, short blood trail.
Earlier this summer, I bought 3 boxes of the Vortex loads, shot a few at the range, and put the rest in a 50 round plastic box. I figure I am good to go for a few years. I enjoy shooting and hunting with other rifles and rounds but if I had to eliminate all but one rifle/load combo, this would be it.
