One of the joys of growing older is the periodic colonoscopy one gets to go through. Tomorrow is my day so today I'm on a liquid diet before the consumption of 20 oz of Magnesium Citrate and 4 dulcolax tablets late this afternoon.

Good luck tomorrow. As far as today goes - some folks have been known to spike their prep with vodka.

It's not so bad, could be worse not finding the cancer. I got to get one every 3 years and my dad needs 1 every year.
I got my throat scoped and stretched when I go in too, acid reflux suxs.

This is about my 4th go round with the anal scope...All to date have been non-events. I hope this one is too. The biggest thing I have to deal with is an empty stomach all day and half tomorrow. I'm drinking chicken broth by the quart...Hopefully, it'll keep the hanger pains at bay.

I hope things "go" well for you.
I'm not looking forward to my next one, either. Whenever that might be.

You know the drill but, for myself, I start the whole process about 4-6 hours before their instructions say. That way you are finished (hopefully) by midnight and can still get a night’s sleep without having to dash for the throne-room.
And it guarantees you (almost) that you don’t run the risk of the surgeon abandoning the procedure due to prep/patient failure.

I was getting prepped for a prostate biopsy a few years ago. I bragged to the nurse that I fell asleep during a root canal once, making light of the biopsy. She stopped right up, looked me square in the eye and said with a stern voice ..... "You won't sleep through this." She was right. It was like someone shoved one of those foot operated dandelion pullers up my butt and was taking out chunks with every bite.

I was thinking I might move the schedule forward a couple of hours. Thanks for your post.
