Buy a ball based on what you want it to do around the greens. Then play only that ball. Consistency will be found in driving, long game, short game and putting.
I want it to fall into the hole. Which ball is that?

Most need to drive a beachball, chip a tennis ball and putt a marble.
But to answer your question, more Titleist ProV1's and ProV1x fall into holes than any other ball made.

Balls only matter, after you have a consistent, repeatable swing & are making almost perfect to perfect contact.

Most balls today are pretty good and I don’t think it makes much difference...except around the greens and there you can really tell the difference in some balls. Stay away from the cheapest balls...though some of them aren’t bad...and you’ll be alright.
But gone are the days when there are just bad balls like the MacGregor Tour that Nicklaus played a lot of his career with. Those balls were so bad that a lot of pros, like Hogan flat refused to play them. They would take MacGregor’s money and swap it out for something else after the first hole.

Balls matter. A lot.
ProV’s vs TP5 vs Tour B’s not as much. Those against any of the $12-30 balls, light years difference.
If you’re poor, look at Snell and Vice balls. Pretty damn similar to the elite balls for quite a bit cheaper. I’ll poor shame you for it relentlessly though.

I got a big bottle of lube and a couple cases of beer. Is the lube for your “flex shaft”? Did you ever figure out what balls you are going to play with? I hear playing with white balls is the way to go. That’s about the extent of my golf advice. I hit one straight once. Clyde

when i was a kid we'd take a titleist and give it to the dog to chew off the balata cover (which he was more than happy to do), then take it away from him (which he was not thrilled about), unwind all the rubber wrapping, then cut open the rubber ball in the center which was filled with fluid...one h_ll of a good time
