I saw that Honda released an updated version of the smallest Pioneer for 2021. I didn't look into all the details but it has a slightly bigger engine and a dump bed. I don't think it has a locking front diff which would have been a big selling point for me.

The whole point of a UTV is 2 locking axles to give you extra traction. You might as well have 2wd .

I've owned a Yamaha 400 Big Bear and a Honda Rancher---- I bought a Honda Pioneer 500 in 2019. I ride lots of steep rough logging trails. Not a speed demon by no means. Shaft driven with chains on the rear. I'll never go back to a ATV--never. I was amazed what this little machine will do. I'm maybe looking at the 520--- I also own a Yamaha Viking--- ( bigger machine) great great machine but prefer the Pioneer 500. I really had my doubts about buying the Pioneer 500 but I'm very glad I did. --------- Web
