Cabelas extreme weather polar fleece top and bottoms. They are super warm and great for sitting in the stand when the temps are low. They no longer sell them as far as I can see.

I’ve got some various polypropylene cheapies. Bought some various weights merino from Black Ovis on clearance but haven’t had need to really test them out yet other than mostly mild conditions.

Regular old long johns when I am absolutely sure it's going to be dry. (I live in the high desert, it's not usually wet)

I have a set of merino I really like, but no longer available in that brand. I'm going to look into the Terramar ones though.

One synthetic one I will wear very occasionally. I hate synthetic stuff next to my skin.

Extremely lightweight and good. My whole outfit when it’s cold weighs less than 4#.

Hell my kenetrek boots weigh 4#.

I wear wool boxer briefs and a thin rambouillet tee shirt. Then merino long underwear bottom and top, then fleece wader pants. If really cold, I'll add another thin long sleeve rambouillet top under the merino.

Merino is probably the best. Filson used to make a great set, but since those jackwagons from Dallas purchased Filson, the don't appear to carry them anymore. All they seem to have done is drop some of the older, better patterns, offer more MIC hipster stuff and jack the prices way up.

When it's really cold, I'll wear Dufold 2-layer (wool/cotton), or some military surplus merino ones I have. I tried silk once, but they're awfully slick.

I hate synthetics of any kind.

Completely depends on the hunting, and climate.

There is clearly no one size fits all.

Cold but no rain?

Cold with snow?

Warm, but wet? Inside of waders, sub-zero? In hip-waders in 90 degree temps fly fishing?

-5, dry, and 40 MPH winds?

Silk, fleece, cotton, and everything in-between for me.

I live in a 4 weather state. I know some don't have that challenge, but it really just depends on the situation.

Like others here, I prefer Merino wool quarter zip to everything else .

It's naturally antibacterial

It's comfortable in 3 seasons

Looks casual, but is not too much so that you can't visit neighbors

Biggest temperature range

I have some old white long sleeves too that are a.little itchy but good as well

When dry weather, there's nothing more comfortable that men's bamboo rayon. They are thin and should be hand washed like wool, but will last for years of good service. I have different earth tones....some hooded for a little extra warmth.
Give them a both a try and you'll thank me later.

Lower half is the same.

My socks are either bamboo rayon or Merino wool

Well......I generally wear boxer briefs and a Carhartt T shirt.

Sometimes I will wear a red Union suit over that....but it had better be cold.

I find that it matters more what I wear on the outside than on the inside.

yep and it don't stink after a day's use

Or a couple hours. I've gone to merino tops for that reason. I can still wear poly bottoms when I need the longjohns. Got the merino from Costco for $17 Per shirt. Exact same weight and quality as REI tops that were $80. Bastids!

Ive gotten lj from Costco, but the damn fly is up at the waist. My dong ain't attached up there. Freak design, IMO.

dude,

you're lucky if you can use a fly in long johns when it's cold enough to need them.

cold fingers and extra layers of clothes "down there" and I have to undue the belt to find things. shocked

It's like the cold on my face tells my junk, get up in there and stay warm, we may want to breed again someday. whistle

I was gathering cattle on my snowmobile last week for a friend.

Needed to stop for a piss. Forgot I was wearing my union suit.

Could NOT find the fly in my undies.....till I realized I was wearing something over my shorts.

Near had an accident. Decided to start earlier the next time.
