Well no deer yesterday and that was the last day for that season. Nonetheless the 721 300 was carried and enjoyed. In this day and age where 20" barreled bolt guns with $400+ syn stocks are only 5lbs in weight and in hot demand. Fawned and drooled over with no limits to what they cost are simply beyond what I am willing to pay. It's less expensive to go retro and enjoy what I couldn't afford in my youth. The M721 300 H & H is a big rifle, not 1 damned thing about it is petite or even just small. Don't know what it weighs but it's closer with a Vari X llc 3x9 , 2pc leupold bases and rings to 10 lbs than 9 loaded. Big gun that handles well and feels good to me, as I payed for it and the only one who is going to use it, that's all that matters. I am going to pull it apart and give the action a good cleaning, probably do the trigger with a couple of blasts of Gun Scrubber too. The season will see me work up a solid 180gr load for it, I have hotter 300's with this outfit I will stay in the 2850 -2900 fps range. MB
