Don't know if anybody has mentioned it, but Henry is chambering their single shot in .350 Legend. I'm lukewarm on the cartridge, but being a .35 nut in general, I figured I'd end up with something in it if anybody ever chambered it in anything other than the cheap disposable tupperware rifles. Ideally, I'd like a CZ 527 Carbine in it, but don't expect that to happen. The Henrys generally have pretty nice wood on them and I like single shots, so may pick one up when they come available.

I'm interested in a Henry Single Shot as well so this is good news. Any idea when they might become available?

I'd rather have the 357 magnum. Mike Belm is doing a 357 Rem Max rechamber on them. Gives you the option of 38 Special, 357 Magnum, and 357 Remington Maximum. If I didn't already have 357 mag and 357 max single shots that would be my choice. I'll concede for a non-reloader the 350 is a good choice too.

If it was a real 35 I would be all over this cartridge in something. The CZ 527 or the Howa mini were my first thoughts. Once the details came out decided it was not for me.

I keep missing out on affordable Ruger No.1 rifles in 357, and not sure I could ream one to Maximum if I did acquire one. I DID grab a Henry single shot in 357 Magnum and I might have it reamed to Maximum with no risk of ‘regret’. I have at least a couple hundred Maximum brass a retiring silhouette shooter sold, so I have about everything I need. I also have a weird desire for a 357 B&D,.... and have an RCBS 357 B&D case forming die that turned up in a box of ‘used stuff’ in a LGS...I may have too many toys... lol 🙄

Realize the 350 Legend was built with a purpose of meeting State requirements, Not the fastest, highest BC, SD, or anything, I t was designed to allow hunters to use a modern rifle in states that restricted cartridges and cases. It's not a 35 Remington or a 358 Winchester, because it was never designed to be. Plus, it'll work in multiple platforms, for the crowd that hunts with ARs.

I get it. I had a custom Contender Carbine barrel made in .357 Herrett year before last. No good reason other than I wanted it.

The .350 is easier to buy loaded, harder to reload. Plus people love repeaters more than single shots. That's why the .350 will continue to sell.
So far I haven't heard reports of good accuracy however. The .450 seems to have a leg up in that department.

I picked up a 357 Mag Henry and quickly reamed it to Maxi. It is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot it really likes cast 180 gr bullets. I am looking to pick up another one and ream it to 357 x 44 B&D. I recently sold a Marlin 94 that I had rechambered to the B&D round as well as a Tender rifle barrel and a Ruger 44 mag rifle I had rebarrelled with a Douglas XX barrel to the B&D, also a Blackhawk chambered in B&D, yeah I kinda like the Maxi and B&D rounds

Tempted by the Legend a few weeks ago when the local shop had one, but the more i looked at it, and did some poking around, I dont think it will be a long term round. It will be a handloader round for sure at some point, but as a factory chambering I think it will fade.

Wow se3388! Some just talk, and a few DO! If I do anything to this 357 Mag I think it would be ream it a bit to MAXimum. Having a few hundred Maximum brass seems to point me in that direction! A buddy called me from a yard sale where a sillouette shooter was getting rid of stuff. Most are new or once fired an none fired over 2x. I acquired it for next to nothing and it’s been sitting in a box for a few years. Actually it came with four boxes of new Remington ammo. A friend has 4 NIB Ruger Maximum Blackhawks, and bought the 4 boxes of ammo for what I paid for the whole lot of brass and ammo! If the price of suppressors woul ever come down I thread it and shoot 38Spl out of it mostly. Sounds like you’ve had fun with 35’s!

Couldn’t agree more. .357 max would be a great single shot. Very versatile and you could even use .38 shot shells.

I have a .350 Legend in an AR, and it's a neat rifle - but in a single shot I'd go .35 Remington, all day every day - at least for a medium capacity, .35 caliber cartridge.

Another vote for .357 Maximum. Lots of good .357 bullets out there, not so many 9mm (.355) hunting bullets.
Winchester's choice to use 9mm bullets in the .350 Legend was an economic decision, so they could use the 9mm presses to make the Legend bullets.

Regrettably, it won’t satisfy the regs in some places, which are based on fear and loathing rather than science and ballistics. I’m thinking a .38/55 would be the beans, but again you gotta play the game. No flies on a .444 either, and that one seems to make the cut everywhere I’ve checked. Good to see you back. You’ve been pretty scarce lately.
