I believe I have a k98 that was captured by Yugoslavia and restamped. I was curious what a good asking price would be. I have had this gun since 1998 or so and it just sits in the safe.
Can't get the pics to post but could text them if needed.

With just the info and pics you posted to go on, I, forr one, am skeptical that it is an M98. Measure the distance between the centers of the action mounting screws on the bottom metal precisely...to the nearest 1/8”...and post the result.

I used to own one of these. If it says "Mod 98" on the side, it's a reworked k98, not one of the later (and shorter) M48 mausers.
As far as asking price, mausers are all over the map. These are a bit less desirable to collectors as most german markings are gone but still fine shooters. I'd place this in the $500-$700 range depending on condition.

His is either an m48 or 24/47 intermediate action yugo. Probably $450 or so.

No, that's a yugo rework K98, also sometimes called a 98/48. 100% sure. It has the short handguard, bent bolt, bolt takedown disk, and bolt handle recess in the stock. I'll bet a paycheck it says Mod 98 on the receiver side and probably has dome German markings in inconspicuous places.

They scrubbed the receiver rings and stuck the Yugo crest on them when they reworked German K98ks. I have one. I used to own one of these. If it says "Mod 98" on the side, it's a reworked k98, not one of the later (and shorter) M48 mausers.
