When my M77 had a 24" tube, I was bumping 2,900 with RL15 and the 210 TTSX. I was going that route to keep recoil down, as compared to the slower burning powders.

Same here.. I have an A Bolt and a Model 70.. both 26 inch barrels....

both have always had a diet of RL 15, IMR 4895 or IMR 4064....

3031 if I think I need to lighten up the recoil a bit...

I use IMR 4350 in mine, but use the 160 Barnes for the puny deer and pigs we have done here.

Mines running a 210NP with Fed 215 and IMR 4350 At 2950 fps.
It would not go over 2800 with RL19 no matter how much powder I put to it.

I've been using H4831 behind 225 grain Nosler Partitions for many years now. Best accuracy I could get in both my 338's. My Pre 64 with a 22" barrel pushes them about 2650-2700 and my Classic Stainless with the 26" barrel pushes the same bullet at around 2950- both with the same loads and excellent accuracy. Both work great on elk but I'm thinking of going to Nosler Accubonds to cut down a bit on the meat damage the NPT's always seem to do... my so has pretty much attached himself to my Pre 64 338 and my P64 300 H&H, so I doubt I will be seeing either of them any time soon.... wink

Okay, shot today. Made some with 210 ttsx and using reloader 17
Shot the first 5 with 70 grains was 2950fps and group right at an inch. Being the first time I’ve shot the new to me kimber I thought with a little more time behind the trigger cam tighten that up some. I also shot 5 with 69 grain and they grouped at about an inch as well. Super happy. Think I’ll grab another box of 210 and lb of reloader 17 tomorrow if there is any left lol.

Sounds pretty good. Now you have a good baseline to go off of.

Yes. Definitely glad to see the kimber is a shooter because I’ve heard good and bad. Need to load up a bunch or 70 grain and get some trigger time in. Appreciate all the feed back.

I’d say you’re ready to go, as is right there. Nothing will walk away from that combo.
