Was at my dads the other day sitting at the table talking. He has a Mod 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Me- I would like too shoot that creedmoor. I’ve never shot one. Dad- Well you ain’t missing nothing. It won’t do anything my .243 won’t do. It caught me off guard. He is planning on selling it. Pass me a 25-06, 270, 7-08, 7mag, 30-06, whatever. I’m so sick of hearing about Creedmoor I don’t even want too own one. I would buy a 6.5x55 if I wanted one just because I’m sick of hearing about the Creedmoor. At any normal shooting distance they aforementioned cartridges will shoot as flat or flatter. If getting into B.C’s and all that stuff the old 30-06 with a 180gr AccuBond has a B.C. Of .507 I think. Just regular AccuBond not the L.R. one. If I’m shooting at an elk sized animal I had rather have the 30-06 any day of the week and twice on Sunday. We won’t even get into how much flatter a 270 etc will shoot at normal ranges. If you are shooting far enough that a dumbmoor is flatter then you are shooting at a distance you shouldn’t be shooting at anything with a heartbeat.

i bought a 6.5 cm a couple years ago when howa had a sale. nice rifle, shot just fine, replaced the factory howa with a vanguard 2 stock. the cartridge just didn't excite me. gave it to a son in law after about a month. i'm just a hunter and don't shoot at anything past 300-350yds, so my other rifles suffice. ymmv.

I like it because it’s a mid sized short action with cheap ammo that everyone keeps in stock. (Ammo shortages aside)
260 or 7mm-08 would fit the bill if you could buy factory ammo for them every where for cheap.

That’s ok, the 6.5 CM wasn’t developed and marketed for people like you. To each their own.

6.5Creedmoor does a lot of things right and under normal times is very easily purchased in many different flavors. For someone East of the Mississippi, a 6.5Creedmoor is a fine caliber for most.

I love these silly rants where someone bitches about the 6.5 Creedmore but praises the 6.5 x 55 as the "better cartridge".... if you bothered to look in a reloading or ballistics chart you would see there isn't enough different between them to be worth mentioning... but do tell how much better the 270, 30-06, and every other cartridge is than the 6.5 Creedmore- I love hearing fairy tales... LOL

Wtf, why waste the time hating something you won't even try? Life is to short for that kind of wasteful emotion. What bothers you about it, that the people who croak on them might be right? They don't recoil much and shoot well .Most who own them shoot them like using them because of the lack of recoil. Mb

It’s a light on the shoulder rifle, I have a couple, like hell out of it. It won’t do anything that other cartridges can’t do. Granddaughter loves mine(hers),mine(hers), guess it’s hers now.

So, you're so sick of hearing about the 6.5 Creedmoor that you had to start a thread about it so you could hear more about it? OK LOL

It's about the most well behaved cartridge out there with exceptional factory ammo and components for. I only wish it had been mainstream 30 years earlier.

Yeah the Creedmoor wasn't developed for hunters like me either, I have never killed(or even shot at) a deer that was over 200 yds, I pride Myself as a hunter not a long range shooter. I killed My target buck this year @45yds with a plain Jane .308 Win 👍.... Im sure the 6.5 Creedmoor (like several other cartridges) is a fine cartridge for long range shooting especially if your recoil sensitive or of smaller stature ...To each his own....Good hunting....Hb
