There are very few big game animals on Planet Earth I wouldn't confidently hunt with a 7mm 140 Partition at 7mm-08 velocities.

47.5 grain Big Game 140 PT WLRM R-P brass 2.805” COAL 2885 fps
Deer, elk, antelope. Leaning this way more and more. A couple of years ago I killed a bull at 346 yards with this load. One shot, zero distance traveled post-impact. He went down so fast I thought I had missed, since I couldn’t see him when I recovered my sight picture after recoil. P

Pharm thanks, your post was timely. I was getting ready to try NP's with Big Game for a Browning BLR I picked up a few weeks ago. My Tikka T3 likes NAB's with Varget and have finally settled on this combination.
Start young, hunt hard, and enjoy God's bounty.

Try 140gr Trophy Bonded Tipped they should work as well as the partitions. They come loaded and
sometimes just bullets. I also like 140gr Accubonds, along with Partitions.

My Tikka T3 likes NAB's with Varget and have finally settled on this combination. Nothing wrong with substituting AB for PT, all else equal. My dad used a single AB from his T3 to kill a big 5x5 bull, 225 yards, 60 foot recovery. P

If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

Buy the brass, buy the bullets and load your own. I haven't shot a factory round in over 30 years.
