6.5 CM is probably one of the easiest cartridges to load for. All you need is a 4350 powder don’t care which one and pick a bullet don’t care which one and it will shoot. Found the exact same thing with the two rifles in 260 rem I've had. I still have one so haven't had any desire for a creedmire.

Biggest thing that sucks about 6.5 CM is they’re the only pricks that can find ammo now.

I bought my first 6.5 Creedmoor many years ago before the chambering developed a cult following.
It has really gotten so bad that I have divested myself of all three of the 6.5 Creedmoors I had previously enjoyed.
I bought one 6.5 though it's a swede instead of the Creedmoor! To buy three of em, you must have been a hardcore supporter. I sure like mine, it kills on par with the 300 win mag, maybe closer to a 338 Trystan
Good bullets properly placed always work, but not everyone knows what good bullets are, or can reliably place them in the field

Always have wondered, what would the .243 be, with a sharper shoulder, longer neck, and rifles built for it? Twist and barrel length for the bullet/load the user wants to use, throat for same. Mag box to match, maybe even a medium length action if needed for feeding constraints. Hell, say 5-10 grains more powder capacity, and even heavier, longer bullets for those who wish to use them. A 120 grain 6 mm would have an ungodly BC and cheat wind like a sumbitch. Be the damn wonder cartridge of the century...😂
Of course, I probably described an existing cartridge I am not loony enough to know about, seems there is nothing new under the sun. Creeds are a standard mousetrap made slightly better to work within the existing constraints, and maybe further limited by arbitrary rules for the games they were developed to be used in. I am a hunter and shooter, not a competitor, so my mind runs more to changing the constraints rather than fitting a cartridge to the ones I have. And too, I am not enthused about trading velocity for BC, when I could build something that gives me both. Not the same bolt face, but without looking up 6mm wildcats, you've about described 6mmPRC performance. And with the highest BC bullets the cartridge really could use a medium action. Bigger badder 6mm's exist, but there ain't no free lunch. Barrel life quickly becomes one of the draw backs. Yeah, I know. Was checking out the 243 Catbird a bit ago. Better have a serious barrel fund if you shoot that one much. Physics are such a bitch, ain’t they?😂

Ammo is very scarce to say the least
Couple of days ago we get 4 cases of 6.5PRC (good Hornady stuff) and the Creedtards come in before breakfast and scoop it all up.
I spend the rest of my shift explaining that 1) 6.5 Creedmore and 6.5PRC are not the same and 2) We don't take return on ammo.

I can't see what all the fuss is about. It's a 6.5mm chambering,...120 grain bullets ~3000 fps.
People have been pushing 6.5mm bullets that fast and a lot faster for quite a while.

Maybe just a hairs difference between one and another.
Its all good, but some is a little better than others and that in the eye of the beholder.

I bought the earlier version back in 98... the 260 Remington Creedmoor... The 260 could have really been something if Remington had any sense, but that's assuming Remington wouldn't turd in the punch bowl. Instead it came with screwed up twist rates & terrible marketing. Rem did the same thing with the 280. Dooming a cartridge at birth with dorked up marketing seems to be one of Rem's specialties. What most people I talk to don't know about the 6.5CR and most gun rag articles don't mention is the only reason the 6.5CR was developed is because when loaded with the very high BC bullets the 260's OAL is too long to fit in detachable magazines - e.g. an AR-10 mag.

My furthest deer kill was ranged right at 400 yds.......6mmBR, 105 amax, double lunged, golf ball sized exit......2850 mv.
No flies on a good 6mm bullet placed thru vitals. Is the 6CM part of the flat brim fairy boot snowflake brigade? I have nothing bad to say about the 6CM, and if every rifle mfg in 243, were changed over to the 6CM, I think it would increase adoption, as we seen with the 6.5 version. To me, you get heavy bullet options in factory ammo, and fast 8 twist rifles from the factory. Those are the niceties over the 243, IMO.

I don't care what anyone says, I am going to get a 6MM Creedmore. It's got a lot going for it, to include a shelf full of ammo at McCoy's. I have a really nice Nikon scope sitting in the closet ready for it.

You really should get one of em 6.5 Creedmucks. It’s so flat shooting gravity doesn’t even effect it. It’s witchcraft I think.
If you had one of them 6.5 things and a .280 you would be king of the mountain. You would be set for gophers to Tyrannosaurus Rex. Everyone knows how much better the .280 is than the 270 or 30-06 🙄 Looks like we have another hammer25-06 on the campfire.

Having mentored the first hunter to have used the 6.5MM Creedmoor on an elk I reckon it's a pretty good round.
Might not be majic but then again you better have a PHD in chamber/cartridge design if you want to argue it's not better than any other round in the 140gr/2700fps realm.
Sadly the 6MM Creedmoor is not as well designed but still offers significant design advantages over the .243 Win in mag box constrained rifles.

I like my 30 cal. guns , what I shot as a young man, then in 80's and 90's started shooting 20 cal. really like them. I think the 264 win mag is fun to shoot, I will not buy a 6.5 creed because it is a kid and women gun, if you want a bad ass ,get a 243 catbird or what I have 6mm x 270, super fast and 1400 yrd. confirmed shots.
