Isn’t the 30-06 just a longer, less efficient cased 6.5 Creedmoor with less aerodynamic and fatter bullets that fall faster and don’t buck the wind as well?
Asking for a friend...... Yessir. Useless as a .45 acp.

[quote=NVhntr]Middle of the road caliber, about as exciting as white bread. All the gun makers had to flood the market with them since it was a common military cartridge and ammo was cheap for all the cheap MFs that like cheap ammo. Tweener cartridge if there ever was one. To little for elephants and too big for ducks. I don't see the point. I'm going to buck the crowd and stick with my .264 Creedmoor.
What do you consider a exciting caliber and why? .50 BMG, because I have yet to shoot one.

All of you 30-06 lovers are very considerate, polite, and I might even offer up, civilized, compared to the Creedmoor crowd.

Asking for a friend...... Yeah, but resorting to logic won’t work with this crowd. Wait a minute. Just who determined the creedmoor has those advantages? I want to see some proof of that. Is your Google broke?

The only 30-06 I haven't owned that I would really like to try is a clean nice shape M 721 remington. Hey ,if it was good enough for Harry Selby it should more than meet my needs. Mb My Dad had the 721 in the 30-06 II (Improved Immensely), the .270 Win. When Mom dies I'll have to arm wrestle my brother for it.

You just had to stir them up. Heck, most of these aught-six lovers are so old they have already forgotten they posted anything on your thread. Fun thread!...I can tell you’re doing good in NV. 😎

Asking for a friend...... . So why did you sell me that .260 700TI barrel? Oh sure, the 725 weighs half as much as the '06, but it only shoots half as well too. Sure does pack easier tho.

Me too. It sucks. Just killed a mule deer couple weeks ago at 327 yards. Just barely within its range.

The 06 has kilt more mammals than all the other chamberings combined.....Lalalalala hands over ears. Don’t care. The 30-06 sucks.
😜😎 Well stated. It's the PB&J of rifle calibers. I hate PB&J Communist.
