Loser:
If I had a gun for every ace that I had drawn I could arm a town the size of Abilene Don't you push me baby, 'cause I'm moaning low And you know I'm only in it for the gold
All that I am asking for is ten gold dollars And I could pay you back with one good hand You can look around about the wide world over And you'll never find another honest man
Last fair deal in the country Last fair deal in the town Put your gold money where your love is baby Before you let my deal go down
Don't you push me baby, 'cause I'm moaning low Well I know a little something you won't ever know Don't you touch hard liquor, just a cup of cold coffee Gonna get up in the morning and go
Everybody's bragging and drinking that wine I can tell the Queen of Diamonds by the way she shines Come to daddy on an inside straight Well I got no chance of losing this time
Last fair deal in the country Last fair deal in the town Put your gold money where your love is baby Before you let my deal go down
Everybody's bragging and drinking that wine I can tell the Queen of Diamonds by the way she shines Come to daddy on an inside straight Well I got no chance of losing this time Well I got no chance of losing this time Well I got no chance of losing this time ...

My kid sister did time for embezzlement trying to get enough money to keep gambling. And pay off the credit cards that were maxed out.
I have no use for gambling having seen what it can do to a family.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

Obviously a case of suicide. Shot in the back of the head and firearm never being found, ain’t a reason to suspect foul play. Texas Ranger LMAO 😎🦫

Every gambler I've ever spoken to was a winner.
Surprised the poor house can make anything. Yep, all the big casinos here in Vegas were built with all those "winnings".

I knew the sheriff at the time who made the suicide call. There was a reason he went with the call. Can’t remember why now. But I think the Texas Monthly article on it all is still available on line to read. Good article. Haven’t read it in years. Sheriff took a lot of heat for that call.

My group of poker friends is nickel, dime, quarter. Just an excuse to get together and shoot the BS. We play a couple of dozen different rules for the poker games..Omaha, Chicago and the like. One of our latest is called "San Francisco". Queens are wild and straights don't count.
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

Surprised the poor house can make anything. Only the winners talk about it...... or at least they only talk about their winnings.

A guy I used to work with had a knack for winning pretty regularly at the blackjack tables. He would watch how the other players played for a while before he'd decide if he was going to play at that table or not. He said the worst thing for a savvy blackjack player was a table with beginner and stupid players.
He worked third shift and several times came into work straight from the casino with thousands of dollars cash on him. The 3rd shift supervisor found out he had brought $18k cash in winnings with him to work one night and jumped his ass royally for it. Supervisor told him he better NEVER bring anywhere near that much cash money in to work again as he was responsible for his as well as other employee's safety and he was making himself a big target to be knocked in the head and maybe even killed with that much money on him.

Surprised the poor house can make anything. Yep, all the big casinos here in Vegas were built with all those "winnings". I have a nephew who is a dealer at the Bellagio Casino Hotel. He's been dealing there for many years. Before going to Las Vegas, he worked as a dealer on several of the river boats on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. When he has visited us I have asked him if he gambles? He said "No. Las Vegas is there for one reason and one reason only. They'll take my money just like they'll take everyone else's." He makes very good money and spends it on real estate, hunting, and fishing. He and one of his friends are duck hunting right now. L.W.

We had a foreman that the guys liked to mess with . Somehow they got a B.S. scratch off . They bought a couple legit ones , no hit , then tossed them on the console of the truck and said fugg it . Foreman looked at tickets and said , you got one you didn’t check . So the guy says screw it , Im done with that BS . Foreman says well I’m going to scratch it off and I’m keeping it if it’s a winner . Guy tells him if it hits , you can have it . So he starts scratching , then beams a big smile and says he won a hundred bucks . The guy says , yeah , right . Foreman insists he did. Guy says let me see . Guy says dam it. You did . So after honoring his word , foreman goes strutting up to clerk and says he wants to cash it in . The guys are standing behind him videoing the ordeal . Aftertastes getting rude because he just knew he won and girl kept telling him it wasn’t real . The guys lost it , the look on his face was a mixture of emotions . It was pouty lips all the way home and the guys would occasionally say his name and he would bark a F-CK YOU ! Kenneth

Gambling can be fun and productive. You can also lose your azz. It’s all in how you go about it. I always had a separate “poker fund”. It was independent of the house budget and if I lost it all the only person it hurt was me. I put together a very nice gun collection from my poker playing days. And still have a nice fat account at the bank. Did I have times that I lost? Absolutely. But there is no doubt in my mind I am way ahead. Casinos are a different matter. We love playing the slots but the money we take we already told ourselves it is gone. If you hit a nice streak then it’s time to quit. That’s the most difficult part. Cheers
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Wyatt: Didn't you always say gambling's an honest trade? Doc: I said poker's an honest trade. Only suckers buck the tiger. The odds are all with the house.

There's gambling at the casinos and then there's today's professional card playing there's a difference. If you're good enough to be in the circuit with all the tournaments etc. most of these guys make a half assed predictable wage and a few do very well.
