We were at Logans a couple of years ago and my wife Ask the waiter if she could buy a couple of the Steak Knives.....He Said no.....We got a Bag of rolls to go and left...When we got home there were 6 new steak knives in the bag with the rolls.....getting ready to use one in a few minutes ....

I've got a fork from a Nashville Shoneys from 20 years ago. Apparently their service silverware use to be American made and made for vikings because its indestructible and twice the size of a normal fork. They also use to supply you with a "steak" knife that could double as a drywall handsaw

They are the Chinese style with the sharp points. The wood comes from American Slugger bats that were broken at a world series game, and are brass fitted to screw into a steel tubes that serves as the handle and storage. It all stores in a nice corded cordura pouch. Yes, they could be considered weapons in some locals.

Over the years my Leatherman or any of a variety of folding knives have often surfaced in a restaurant. Even more frequently at fundraiser type events where one runs into plastic ware with prime rib or a steak. Why struggle when there's no need to?

On a similar note, I know a young lady that packs around her favorite soup spoon. She decided it was the cat's ass back in her single digit years and has been carrying it since.

Chinese restaurants, definitely. I don't like to use only chopsticks fight with 6 inch long beans and asparagus.

This came Merry Christmas from me.

Nope. I eat steak in a restaurant once a year. At Bob's Steak and Chop House when my youngest and I attend the Dallas Safari Club show. No need to bring a knife.

A couple came into my store one day and the wife had severe arthritis. She had a fork, knife and spoon with the handles designed so she could use them. She explained she was very self conscious about going into a resturant and pulling out her own silverware, but she couldnt feed herself otherwise and that was more embarrassing.
I sent her to a friend of mine who was a very talented saddlemaker and silversmith. Told him they were coming by and explained the situation. He made her a tooled leather and silver case for her eating utensils. She made a point of showing them to me and said how proud she felt when she laid them on the table in a resturant.

I figured you for the kind that wears the big belt buckle with hidden knife behind the steer head. 😂😂

I don't go to restaurants where I would need to use my own knife to eat the food, but my $16 EDC Gerber Ultralight LST has come in quite handy with rubber chicken banquet food.
