Depending on the argument....yes.

Also things were much much better too.

Just depends on what they are complaining about at that particular moment.

Correct, on the farm absolutely. In their office job no effin way. Cost of living was a fraction of what it is now.

The lore of patina on guns in some peoples minds.

Patina...
Aka ....
Hardened aged rust and grime.

Snork.......

Who ever started this patina schit long ago and its " value".....

Needed ta be cuffed upside of the noggin to have nipped that stupid schit in the bud......

JFC......
I have yet to see a modern gun since the smokeless powder era that couldnt be done justice with a good restoration job wood and metal wise.

But this " lore of patina" exist and persist.

back in the 90's i used to do a lot of work at redstone army arsenal and would spend weeks at a time there. they had this morning show (i think) that was like a Good Morning Huntsville or some schit and they advertised that stuff on there. i never figured out if it was a real show or a long running spoof. couple old redneck fuggers sitting around talking schit and everyone once in a while they'd do a infomercial for Joggin' In A Jug. Check writers are the same ones who rarely ever have a problem with their credit / debit getting hacked...

Your bank routing number and account number is on the bottom of everyone of them. Lot's of things can be done with that info.

Going to school was tough. The snow was 5 feet deep and it was up hill to the school 5 miles. Then it was up hill coming home too. Went school in the dark and came home in the dark. I still got my homework and chores done too.

We got my parents the most simple phone we could find. They pick it up turn it on and call you. If you don't answer immediately, they shut if off and put it down. Then you call them back and get the "this user has voice mailbox that has not been setup yet." message.

*sigh*

call their home phone....

That made me laugh!
My dad refuses to get a truck with electric windows for that very reason but needs it to have Bluetooth to connect to his hearing aids and cell phone and a backup camera because “the grandkids don’t know not to ride their bikes behind him”
Car Salesman: that combination of technology is not an option but I assure you that power windows have come a long way in reliably since the ones available in that 1989 dodge pickup you drove in.
Dad: I still don’t trust the damn computer for the important stuff.

Just seems like good, common sense to me. My dad would buy a truck with an AM radio, then put in an FM converter. And no air conditioner!

My wife’s uncle was an engineer at the arsenal forever. He’s 89 now and I think he still does some contract work for them. Looks like a homeless guy. He’s a fine and interesting fellow.

They also tend to fall for the phone scams -

This is the FBI, your SSN is going to be shut off for fraud. Send me 500 bucks and we can stop it.

And they about break a hip reaching for that same cheque book for an EFT over the phone.
