Don Johnson as Sonny Crockett on Miami Vice. Also, later played Nash Bridges.

Great Choice! I had forgotten about Detective Drebin. I'm glad they saved a bunch of those episodes to YouTube. I can't keep a straight face two minutes. Some of his best comedy.

Those are bringing back a lot of memories. I don't think Peter Falk as Columbo was mentioned yet. Here's the pilot. https://vimeo.com/336744570

I have noted that at this time of year these fora become seriously whacky...aren't you lot allowed outside or something.
Surely winter hasn't hit yet?
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

I really liked the Jesse Stone series with Tom Selleck. A real refreshment from all the domestic "cop shows" here. The main problem with German cop shows is that they want to write hard boiled characters, but they just come off as pretentious arses plus they don't even shoot the criminal, even if it's clear cut self defense. Jesse Stone as a crime series cleverly subverts this and gives us a believable, sympathetic, hard-boiled police chief who actually shoots people when they try to kill him. Justified is a good show, too, but I wouldn't want to live in the same jurisdiction as Marshall Raylan Givens.
