Good on you! My father didn't hunt it was my uncles that stoked the passion.
Congrats to him, also.

Great job, excellent deer.
Tell your Nephew to not pose where it looks like the rifle is pointed at his belly. I think it is good form to open the bolt for photos but to each his own. Ok didn't mean to be the internet police, I just remember having to remind my sons not to do this.

Ok didn't mean to be the internet police, I just remember having to remind my sons not to do this. No worries. I too cringe at muzzle position in some photos. It is actually under his arm very clear of his body, and with the bolt open, unloaded, and on safe. Thank you gentlemen. This was one of the best and most memorable days of my life.

Doubly good on you. Moms notice these things is the only reason I mentioned it. I like that country around Cotulla deer have both brush and agricultural crops to feed on and it produces some good ones like your nephew shot.

Great start for your nephew. Great area to hunt . I’ve been lucky to lease 3 different ranches in that area. Hasbeen

Congratulations on a great hunt and hopefully a life long hunter. There is good deer hunting in other parts of the country and the S TX brush ranks right up with the best.

What does a kid do if that's his first buck? Not going to get much better My thoughts exactly; I’m 46 and haven’t ever shot anything that nice! Great work dad & son that’s great! I’ve had awesome results from the 100 Gr TTSX in my 6.5-06. Hammer of Thor and all that...
