I got a set of McGregor persimmon woods I think from about 1954. Re shafted and new leather grips about 20 years ago. 1 2 3 4 wood. I think they are worth a grand or so.

Try ice fishing. The parallels are much more sound and satisfying. I can do all four. You can’t. Try ice fishing. The parallels are much more sound and satisfying. I can do all four. You can’t. Show me a single ice-fish. I would concede that I can’t, but even I can play mini golf, so I have your boast covered.

Most people that are too uncoordinated to golf are also too uncoordinated to hit wild birds in flight or manage a fly line.
I have no doubt ice fishing suits you.

I have no doubt ice fishing suits you. Score. You really are a funny bastard. And arrogant as well. I do fine with ruffed grouse and woodcock, when I feel [bleep]. LL’s and Bows are easy. Native EBT’s are something else. Golf.... There are other holes I want to put my gear in. Lol.

Wing shooting Pelicans isn’t difficult. I usually just drop screaming Mimi’s down their throats and clap the beaks shut, if they took a live bait.

My scores dropped significantly with R flex and graphite. I’m sure that day isn’t too far in my future, but right now it won’t work. The club head would still be at shoulder height while my hands were through the ball. It’d look like some kind of a trick lasso show going on. At this rate I probably need to sell the damn things anyways and buy more ammo.

Sizing grips on the net is right up there with getting fit for clubs indoors.
As aww, c'mon man, the launch monitor never lies!!!!! Where should a person get fit for clubs? Call PXG. They’ve got mobile fitters who will come meet you at a local course/range, set up their launch monitor and bring about 300 shafts and about 100 heads, and will do an entire bag fitting with no obligation to buy their clubs. To be fair, they’re salesmen so they’re going to want to sell you clubs; but, you can at least get the information from them and make your mind up from there. To be honest, with as much time as the guy spent with me getting everything dialed in, I kinda felt obligated to order some clubs from him. A couple weeks after they got delivered, he was in my area again and dropped off a cart bag for free, so that was kinda cool. Doesn’t make up for the second mortgage I had to take out to cover the cost of those bats, though. This is what they brought out the day I had one of them come meet me in BFE.

ducksndogs,
That is a much better answer than "outside" or "a golf course."
I thank you.
Well, considering how serious you are most of the time, we should have realized you'd want a clear, concise answer. Preferably with a link(s). So, serious answer time: launch monitors can be jacked. I've seen club/shaft combos that looked great on the monitor suck azz on the course or range. In fairness, I've had a few that were nuts on as well. FWIW, you still want the launch monitors data. So, in my experience, a good fitter has you at least hit on the monitor outside, possibly after narrowing down club/shaft choices inside. You can bring the launch monitor outside, you can't bring full ball flight inside.

I understand the argument against indoor club fitting and analysis. I was just curious as to where people typically go to have it done.
There are places locally that let you play a round after they fit and equip you with clubs, but all the fitting takes place indoors.
I have checked with Titleist and their website says “no events scheduled near you.” Could be a COVID thing, I don’t know.
PXG might be the ticket. I will find a veteran to purchase them for me.

PXG might be the ticket. I will find a veteran to purchase them for me. It's not that you don't get great info from the launch monitor indoors. Spin, ball speed etc all matter. But, for instance, if the big "difference" between your driver and a new one you are looking at is carry/distance, but your spin is about the same, there's a better than even chance that it won't translate to the course, or at least not nearly as much. I can hit drives 300 more than rarely on the PGA Tour Superstore launch monitor. I never do it on the course without the aid of gravity (downhill hole) or god (gale force winds). If you get fitted, just swing. Don't do anything differently because you're being watched and getting fitted. Within reason, you can buy a better game, but the fitter needs to be working with your natural swing to do it. As for where, I asked my 1.7 index buddy who he used. It was a local pro at a country club who did the fitting at a driving range. Not cheap, but worth it. Poor bastard has to bring a freaking trailer full of stuff to the range. With store bought clubs my league handicap was 17-18 for years. Immediately after new, fitted clubs 12-13. After learning to putt, 10-11 this year. Golf is more fun when you know you're not shooting >100

Outside off of grass. Ball flight never lies
Do they have a website? We go to this one in KC. https://robinnigrogolf.com/ I can’t remember how many combinations of heads and shafts I hit but it always came back to one particular combination that stood out. Someone mentioned PXG also. An acquaintance was talking about his positive experience with them as well.
