Had one coworker change his name. Family surname name was "Hollodick"... I believe he changed it to "Holiday".

I’ve seen it a few times by prisoners. One white guy had his name changed to Pharaoh and another changed his to Draco. No clue why.
Yup.

Tried to....
Twice..
Court didnt think much of " Starburst Super Nova" during my misspent teen age years.
Then another court and perscom didnt think very highly of "Spike the Vaginal Destroyer" in my 20,s.
Grandfather did approach me about changing my last name to Morrison though before I went in the Army.
Didnt extend that to my brother.
Me, him, and my uncles didnt think very much of my bum dad or his mini me little son todd.
LOL!!!

Not me, but a few years back I discovered that in 1905 my Grandfather had his name changed ("birth certificate corrected") back in the old country, but didn't tell anyone apparently, so we've been using the "wrong" last name for over a hundred years. By the time I found this there was no one left alive who might have been able to shed any light on it so it will remain a mystery.

Yes, deed poll at the age of twenty.
Common enough to not be remarked upon.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Know that fellow that changed his name when he was in high school. His maternal grandparents raised him and he changed his last name to theirs.

Every few years I change my name, SS#, DL, passport, everything....the whole shebang. It keeps my creditors guessing. 😁
No I’ve never changed my name nor do I plan to, I’m proud of it and I wear it carefully.

My #2 son changed is last name to my ex's new/old husband. She was married to him, divorced him and we started dating and got married and we had two sons, she divorced me and remarried him and she screwed with the boys about me, but the oldest which was 6 figured out she was not right and came to live with me and the new wife. The youngest I have not seen nor heard from in over 20 years. Even my #1 doesn't keep in contact with him. Totally screwed him up.

My friend Poopoo Broussard changed his name.
