But, woot is an amazon company and they are the scourge that threw Parler out into the street.

Have fun replacing parts on that macbook yourself...enjoy mac store repair prices and part prices.
I've deal with laptops for years in business and education environments, dell latitudes have always been my go to. Just changed the CMOS battery on my ten year old dell inspiron running windows 7 just the other day. The only thing I can't do on it is run Mastercam machining simulations. Simple fix, I cut the program at home, load it to a flash drive. The next day I go to work, verify the cutter path and cut sequencing on my work computer (dell), convert it to machine language and upload to the HAAS.

There's a handful of big tech companies - MS, Apple, Amazon, and a few others, that run it all. You can't avoid them. Lenovo is based in Hong Kong and is the biggest computer company in China. They bought IBM's personal computer division. Acer is Taiwan. If you want an American built computer, you're SOL. For the most part, you can choose China, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.

I have a couple of HP's, one an I-7, one an I-5 with 16 G ram, solid state drives & both have been rock solid & trouble free.
Once you learn the formats, work arounds & how to configure Win 10, it is by far the most stable Win version yet.......by far.
I hate Microsoft & Apple, but I'm not going to move to Linux.
MM.
I also run the HP, I-7. The only non-issue I've had is unloading the base software after loading 365. It is a perfect machine.

Looks like High Noon missed my question or has not been back to the thread.
Bottom line is every [bleep]'r out there is our enemy, China, Amazon, MS, Apple
Personally I am leaning towards a Lenovo since my Toshiba needs an upgrade although I would prefer the stability of the Macbook.
