I downloaded that book to my Kindle shortly after it was published. Get it while you can.
Jim Goad's book are always an entertaining read. That's not to say that they're nonserious. But his writing style is enjoyable. There's not much filler in his books. He selects every word carefully.

The entire spectacle is manufactured rage. But instead of dwelling on that aspect of it, you chose to tack off on a discussion of how vetting is a normal part of the process.
There's no reason to discuss how much of an abnormal process is normal.
Everything about what's going on in D.C. is very damn abnormal.
While I agree with the assessment that the whole NG buildup is wrong, having experienced the level of vetting that is required to get anywhere near these government "VIPs", as Mackay alluded to also, I am not at all surprised by the FBIs actions.
ANYONE with access to these folks or even sensitive government information is routinely monitored and "vetted", with more access equaling more constant monitoring. That is one of the main reasons I think the whole Q stuff is fantasyland garbage. Even the thought that someone with access to such sensitive inside information as they claim to have would be able to covertly disseminate it without detection is laughable, at best. Especially considering the fact that our various alphabet and intelligence agencies have not exactly been friendly with President Trump.
