This. If you want to make it a little different go 223AI. Either way, mode the mag box for the longer OAL. Another post in the 'fire made me think about the 6mm ARC. It would be a cool little round for this. I have no idea how hard it is to get brass for it right now though.....so .223 or a variate of it may still be the best route logistically. I was thinking little 6mm ARC’s would be perfect turn key rifles for my girls. Maybe in another year or so they’ll be chambered in a few offerings. Or at least brass be available.

Buy a new bolt from PTG and make a 308 based 20" 358 Win. I have one in stainless and it's sweet to carry and deer don't run off.
