This one is my favorite, except I use H-4831 and not the SC 54.0.....H-4831sc.....120 gr Hornady HP....chrono's 3083 Been a great deer load for about 30 years. Hornady did get rid of that bullet but I'm good to go for many years. I got one of those I saved, haven’t shot one since. Got any you want to sell??

My favorite load in my 25-06's is: Hornady 100 grain Remington 9 ½ 57 grains of H4831sc 0.84" at 100 meters - 5 shot groups - similar size groups in either 25-06
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

Looking in the Hodgdon's Load Data Website I find some interesting loads with Enduron Powders:
100 grain Nosler Partition 7977 up to 3372 FPS with 61.0 grains. 117 grain Hornady Boattail 7977 up to 3153 FPS with 58.0 grains and 8133 up to 3216 FPS with 61.1 grains 120 grain Swift 8133 up to 3173 FPS with 62.0 grains.
All were tested in a 24 inch barrel. These new powders make the old 25-06 step into 257 Wby territory. I will have to dig out and dust off my 25-06 and try and work up loads for these powders. I like the idea of the 120 grain going at that speed. Deer and antelope slayer supreme! +1 on the 7977. And you can order direct from Hodgdon's

If you must have top velocities, then an appropriate 115gr with 4831 is a really good place to start for a good all-around hunting load. If a 100 fps here or there does not concern you, then the same 115gr with H4350 can be a great combo.
