I just tried ordering a McMillan Winchester Hunter stock. McM told me they are selling it as a flat top only; in fact they are selling ALL Win patterns as flat top only. The only Win inlets they are doing is for the Game Hunter, Scout, and Warden.
Does anyone know a smith that has a CNC program to do a Win inlet?
Does anyone know of another synthetic stock maker doing Winchester?
Thanks, 405wcf

seems like mcmillan is leaving the hunting portion of their business behind....i tried to buy a stock or two back when they have sales from time to time but the tactical stocks were the only ones they had on sale...i guess it is a business move that they understand and makes sense....
anymore i find a gunsmith who is building their own stock and have them install it...
long rifles may do the inlet for you

Give Kevin Cram a call, he owns Montour County Rifles in PA He can do a full inlet on a Winchester. I had one done a few years ago.

I believe Joel Russo might be able to. Might be worth asking him. If you google Russo rifle stocks it will pop up.

Thanks, 405wcf I just sent a Hunters EDGE off to Kevin Weaver for Bedding/Inletting. I didn’t know they weren’t doing full inlets anymore. That’ll be a pain.

Sounds like they are dropping some things. Just talked to a guy looking for a KS stock I had previously listed who said McMillan told him they had discontinued that pattern. Don't know if that is true, unfortunate if so.

McMillan is sold...
And they are dropping several of their stocks models.. and now it seems stopping inletting. A shame.
I was talking to them in mid Dec about a stock. 4 weeks later when I was going to order, I was told the cut off date to order was 31 Dec. But there was no information regarding this beforehand... not by email, not on Facebook or on their webpage.

I’m looking on Manners site but not seeing what I’m looking for. Does anyone know if Manners inlets for Howa/Vanguard?

Not trying to change the subject just figure others are exploring other options right now too. It’s a shame the particular Hunter stock being discussed is my favorite.

I guess I’ll just have to see what they end up inletting for and what campfire pricing is. I really like McMillian stocks but $337 for a flattop $72 for molded in finish $80 for a pad $375 for inletting. Not to mention pillars sling studs shipping etc. is just more than I can afford/justify.

Just get the B&C for $285 and be done. I've had several with no complaints.

McMillan has left the building. Whoever owns it now might as well change the name.
By the way, in case you missed it, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.

I'm guessing from a finance prospective they crunched the sales numbers and stuck with the hot items. Cutting the less popular patterns speeds up production.
