And none of that liquid fire crap was necessary. I get cut and scratched all the time and put nothing on them, and heal up just fine, even without monkey blood.

When I was a kid—old people where normally really anal about cleaning and disinfecting wounds—most of them had lost loved ones to infections and tetanus.

When I was 14, I managed to hit myself in the index finger of my off-hand when swinging a corn knife in the bean field. My older cousin (by 15 years), Ron, wrapped it up tight in his "slightly used" blue farmer's handkerchief. The next day, it had healed over, but had a purple "blister". We poked it with a needle, it drained, and it healed up well and quickly.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

None of that monkey blood stuff at our house when I was growing up. Dad was strictly a 70% rubbing alcohol guy. Nothing burns like that chit and he used it on ya no matter how deep the wound was.

We called it monkey blood,cause you screamed like a monkey when they put it on you.The other treatment was the old purple cow smear liniment you got when out at the barn on in the pasture.My poor kids wiil never have those memories and will be poorer for it. Absolutely !! LOL
