Mine would be the 1873 Colt Single Action Army Cavalry Model, the 7 1/2 inch version. Matt Dillon carried one in Gunsmoke and Shane packed a Nickle Plated 7 1/2 inch Colt SAA. Seems like when ever Clint Eastwood was using a Colt SAA, it was the Cavalry Model for example in High Plains Drifter and his Spaghetti Westerns. In Outlaw Josey Wells he was carrying Colt Walkers, 1860 Army's and other period correct Percussion Revolvers. In
Pale Rider Eastwood is using the 1858 Remington New Army Cartridge Conversion. In Unforgiven I find the Smith And Wesson Schofield Model 3 interesting used by the Schofield Kid "Why you from Schofield there bouts?" Then at the end at when Munny uses it to kill Little Bill and his Deputy's. I collect Colt SAA but mine are all Gen 3 models. I have a couple USFA Inspector Series 1873 Colt Cavalry's one Nettleton and one Ainsworth.

Sharps, I say that because I don't recall ever seeing a rolling block in a movie. Then it would be a toss up.

I like the 1855 Colt Revolving percussion Carbine carried by Bull in El Dorado. I also like the Spencer Carbine used in Unforgiven.

Here are my two. Love Colt SAA's, this is my oldest one 1891 Texas shipped, good chance it was part of the Johnson County War 1889-1893
The 1860 Army dates to 1862, no history.

I'm certain the 1860 Army has history if it could speak...

Lever guns. Then Sharps rifles. Then a Peacemaker, I suppose. The 1860 Henry that Danny Glover and his dad both carried in "Silverado" was iconic for me when I first saw it. My dad thought so, too. He picked up one of the replicas. He gave it to me before he passed.

In Outlaw Josey Wells his Walkers, Army and 49 pocket that he shot were conversions. If you look closely there are no nipples. The guns they showed him carrying were not conversions and you could see the nipples. In a lot of scenes you can see the loading gate on the Army. The Outlaw Josey Wells is by far my favorite western.

Well then I reckon Outlaw Josey Wells was not all that period correct since the conversions didn't make the scene until 1870. You reckon so? LOL

The .50 Hawken in Jeremiah Johnson. Now, he wasn't a cowboy, but it was in the West and he killed lots of Injuns.

I can't think of a favorite. I think when I was little it was that 7-barreled Nock gun used by Richard Widmark, playing Jim Bowie, in the Alamo (if that counts as a Western). They have that and a lot of the actual famous models used in a lot of Westerns and other flicks at the NRA National Firearms Museum in Virginia just down the road from where I live. They have a number of the ones John Wayne and Clint Eastwood used in a number of their movies, including the Model 29 that Eastwood used in Dirty Harry. Unfortunately, that place has been closed due to C19 for most of the past year. Kind of surprising, given that a lot of other museums around DC are back open.

Here my old 1873, don’t do anything with it, but it’s a cool old rifle, made 1884. 38-40.
