American man A: "What you doing on Sunday?"
American man B: "I'm going to be glued to my TV watching a bunch of muscular Negroes in tight pants running around."
American man A: "Oh." The NFL isn’t for fuggs with more hair in their ears than on their heads. Ohh if you wear Depends it’s probably not for you. I disagree old boomer aged men are some of the biggest NFL fans a lot more so than 20-30 somethings. Ya think? hmmmmmm,...that's interesting. Let's see a show of hands. How many of you people watching the muscular Negroes in tight pants are boomers? There's probably some boomers I know that watch that bullshit. But they don't admit it to me. See? They won't admit it. I get a kick out Mrs. March Madness babbling on and on about football. Just STFU.

I just remembered this. Mental trigger from some of the post on this thread. About 2 or 3 yrs ago IIRC . I ran into a WW2 Marine Vet here at the Madison street Walmart 93 94 yrs old at the time CPL Edgar Harrell USMC Wearing a USS Indianapolis Hat. I had too talk to the guy. I had too!!! Once in a lifetime chance to hear living history and shake his hand. Approached him and asked him was he on the ship when it was sunk by a Japanese sub.
He was a corporal in the Marines assigned to ship security. Guarding the bomb on its way to Tinian Island. One of 14 survivors still alive at the time. He mentioned some pretty messed up stuff while they was in the ocean hoping to be rescued. The old Marine just wanted to talk. Just let him talk, he seemed very honored to say what happened. Said it was his job to honor his shipmates memory and what the guys in the water went thru. I was amazed no one in walmart had no clue about him walking around with that hat on. WHO HE WAS AND WHAT HE WENT THRU...... I had to talk to him and listen to him. We all know the story of the Indianapolis. But knowing and hearing it from an actual survivor is a entirely different thing 100% honor to be in the mans presence and let him talk. He gave me a business card of the survivor assocoation. i Cant remember what I did with it now. Pretty sure I made a thread about it on here. Proud to have heard the mans experience honestly. A honor to talk to him and be in his presence.
Anyways 2 weeks ago I ran into him down in pleasant veiw at the wendy's,/ dunkin donuts/ convenience store rest stop. Guy has to be 96 97 yrs old now. Walking all by himself to his SUV albeit slowly. Driving himself around alone. Unbelievable he is still alive!!!
I had to talk to him again. Told him briefly the last time I met him. And how glad I was to run into him again. Thanked him for doing his job during WW2. Told him it is good he is alive. He chuckled about that and said I live for the day now. I just smiled and asked him if I could give him a man hug. He held out his arms and I gave him a hug and a couple pats on the back. Thanked him for letting me do that. Shook his hand Said I hope to see you again Sir. Said bye He smiled and gave me a slow light wave.
Went to my truck. My eyes tearing up......
Really the only other person I have been in awe of WW2 wise was my grandfather . I got a Waffen SS tanker ring from him and his story of that day in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge. One of the reasons why I make model WW2 1/35 scale German Tanks. Cause of what gramps did. And when ya get hauled off the snake river plain during a FTX in March 85 to go call your gramps who just had 3 pig valves put in his heart and the surgeon at walter reed gives him a small pill bottle of 88m shrapnel he was carrying around imbedded in his ribs since january of 1945. Thats stuff to share and not vicariously, but with honor of the person.
Well you tend to remember schit like that and dont forget stuff.
I have made post related to my gramps, that ring, and my modeling hobby on here.
Anyways..... What brought out this story. Was the double ace golfing story .
I know if I sure as fugg shared the same O2 and time with a person of history. I sure as fugg would know details about them and what they did. To share with others who might be interested in learning about vets that are still alive or dead.
And also their frigging name.......
