I joined GOA, what do you folks think about this organization? It seems to me it is what the NRA was when it was effective and focused.

WLP is far to selfish to resign for the "good" for the organization. The board needs to eject him.

I joined GOA, what do you folks think about this organization? It seems to me it is what the NRA was when it was effective and focused. That's exactly what I did. I noticed that I had already sent messages out to our congressmen (sometimes a couple of days) before I was notified of the problem by NRA.
Shew me thy ways, O LORD: teach me thy paths. "there are few better cartridges on Earth than the 7 x 57mm Mauser" "the .30 Springfield is light, accurate, penetrating, and has surprising stopping power"

John H's article, which I incorrectly used to attribute to Mule Deer, was the inspiration for my .35 Whelen and I still intend on getting a mold and shooting some cast bullets from it.

Thanks!
I tend to read Craig and Steve first as well, partly due to knowing them both very well--and consequently respecting their opinions. Thanks for the comments shootinurse & John. Just passing through and delighted to find folks looking after my byline~~ I'll generally read JB's frequent feature article first.. I do enjoy writing for Sports Afield. ~ I got a new older Springer and named her Lena, later remembering Lena the Lab! Her original name was Athena and I didn't find that shoutable~ BTW: Charlie Waterman is still my all-time Favorite storytelling outdoor writer!

Interesting thread going on here. Wasn't up to date on the latest about Mr. Haviland and recently got the March issue of American Rifleman, ( I'm an endowment member but haven't sent any $$ in over a year now). The monthly handload piece features the .35 Remington in a piece by John Haviland. He's listed as a field editor but that's just what they call free lance guys, I believe. Nice to see John's still doing something.

I never cared for John's (H) writing style, just bland. Typically his load data was conservative relative to what other sources offered. I enjoy JH's articles but I agree regarding his reloading data. Alway way bellow what everybody else is shooting.
