When I lived in Colorado a pre'64 Winchester M/70 .338 WM was my go to elk rifle. I loaded the now long discontinued Speer 275 gr. RN bullet over a near maximum charge of IMR 4350. Accuracy was outstanding often producing three shot cloverleaf groups at 100 yds., never needed a second shot on any elk that I harvested. Always though it would make an excellent choice for moose too.
