Anyone have any experience on the easiest way to trap a Red Fox. Sumbitch keeps killing my chickens. 1 every 2 months like clockwork. After 4 years I'm ready to end him if I can.

A goofy neighbor of mine would place the bones from a costco chicken out by where he saw the foxes at our place.

Once they were used to it you could put the chicken bones in a large have-a-heart and catch them.

Aka bait and switch to a trap.

Blind and dirthole sets on open pathways and along fence rows and snares in cover.

If there’s no concern for bycatch (your dogs and cats) you can use a cubby set. Use a 220 conibear in a bucket. Bait the bucket. Set the trap but keep the safeties on so he gets used to it and fully commits to taking the bait without accidentally triggering the trap while he’s figuring things out. After he takes the bait a couple times, take the safeties off and you’ll have 1 dead fox. May not be legal in your area but it’s very effective

I just had to Google the 220 conibear. That looks promising.

Just watched a YouTube video on the 220 conibear. Those things are medieval! Wonder if we can use them to trap liberals🤔 they are always stocking their noses where they don't belong so it shouldn't be hard😁

Put the bones on the trap and inside until they get used to it and your scent leaves it.

I’d go dirt hole set and a leg hold.

220’s above ground make me nervous unless it’s a hyper controlled environment.

Chicken schit makes good bait.

There's an idea.

You'll never catch a fox in a conibear or any sort of live trap.

1.5 coil spring dirt hole set. Google it.

If you ain't got dogs, cats, other pets etc, just mix some slug and mole bait with a piece of raw hamburger meat. You can get it at your local Co-op. One dose is guaranteed.
