Be advised, you're in the "long-range" forum... Barnes ain't never made thing (!long-range) or worth a fuuck period...

I don't know about that. My 30-378 Bee slings 175 LRX's at 3450 fps. It shoots flatter than Kate Hudson!

Can't deny that would work waaaay out there. Not my cup of tea, but you are welcome to enjoy it.

All this over an extra 10-15 gr weight? Wow....must have a really pointy nose on that thing.

Yeah, can you imagine a 250 AI with the ballistics of a Creedmoor?? That would be something!

Long time back there was a gun loony that had a wild imagination. As I recall he went to a 5-5.5" twist for the Roberts and loaded it with 150 gr bullets. Mebbe he should'a used a .25-06 or .257 Bee?

I am going the 257 Weatherby route. I get different info on twist rate, Black Jack says 1-8" but others say 1-7". Any down side to 1-7"?
Will the Bergers hold up at Weatherby velocities?

There was a series of those long bullet cartridges in 22, 25, 6.5 and I think 7mm. They were called the Arch or Condor depending on the creator. One account was of a hunter putting a 125 grain 224 bullet through both shoulders of an elk. Barnes made the bullets out of copper tubing.

https://bergerbullets.com/new-25-caliber-135-grain-long-range-hybrid-target-bullets/

Was hoping these were the Hunting bullet, but the heavier jacket of the target style may be a plus at the ranges I shoot. If anyone finds where to get these please PM me as I bet they will go fast.

Just saw that they have a 133 grain hunting version too, it is not even on the Berger web site. McGeegunstocks.com is taking pre-orders but they are selling mostly the 500 box. I will see if I can get the 100 boxes to test before getting 500 of them.

The big 25s are hampered by wind drift way more than trajectory. These and other high BC bullets could go a long way to correct this. These will also make the smaller cartridges shine and competitive with the6s, 6.5s and 7s.

i just have had a 257 Creedmoor built with a 7 1/2 twist shoots great now with the custom dies, i also have 2 new 257 Roberts with a 7 1/2 twist barrels all 3 are Brux S.S. barrels the 30 Rem.Express that i had chambered 257 Roberts 71/2 twist barrel shoots excellent, the other one is a real nice Mauser i had rebarreled in a 257 Roberts 7 1/2 twist Brux barrel for my daughter but this rifle is waiting for me to pick up ,but since i had this back surgery it will be a while before i pick up this mauser 257 W. Mag.. i am thinking and wondering about building another 257 Weatherby mag. chambered ? looks like the best way is to buy a used Weatherby Mark 5 accumark rifle and rebarrel with a 257 Weatherby Mag. 7 1/2 twist Brux barrel for the best accuracy and cheaper too maybe a 28 inch barrel length ? maybe be able to get 3400-3500 fps. with the new Berger 135 gr. bullets ?

I just ordered a seven twist 25 barrel that will get reamed to the Weatherby chamber. The 7.5 twist should work but the 128 Hammer bullet needs the faster twist. I don't think I will regret the 7 instead of the 7.5 twist, although Black Jack recommends the 7.5 twist for their 131 gr. bullet.
