We are well stocked with studded "T's", steel braces, and barb wire. Those new prices are just, WOW!!

I was gonna build a carport this summer, but at today's lumber prices, it's gonna be put on hold. Haven't checked, but a good metal carport might be cheaper.

I doubt it. Steel has been going apesh*t in the last 45 days.

2x4's are right at $5 each here.Thank goodness I replaced my redwood deck last year. It would have cost me double right now.
Of course all that money I save will get eaten up today. My well pump went out.Charge is $240/ hour plus cost of pump. They will be out this afternoon.

And yet the home builders are putting up track homes and apartments as fast as they can and people are buying them as soon as they are finished

That's insane! I have a garage project in the cards for this summer, but it may have to wait. 3 times normal cost for a stud? Ouch.

There may be a lot of construction, but there is a lot on hold too.
I know of several barn type buildings and deck type jobs that
are waiting.

Commercial is fairly normal.
But, it's a different animal.

Gotta re-roof our shack, no choice. Thinking steel.
Timing sucks, but so does rain inside the house.
